Thoughtful design begins with a clear process. Each project follows a structured approach that organizes design decisions before construction begins.

01 Concept and Planning: Every successful renovation or new build begins with thoughtful planning. During this phase we establish the overall design direction and begin organizing the key decisions that will guide the project.

Includes: 

  • On-site consultation
  • Review of existing plans or measurements (if applicable)
  • Concept boards and design direction
  • Preliminary layout guidance
  • Initial finish palette direction
  • One design presentation meeting
  • One revision round

02 Detailed Design and Selections: Once the overall direction is established, we refine the design and select the materials and fixtures that will bring the project to life. Clear documentation is prepared so selections can be implemented during construction.

Includes:

  • Final finish selections
  • Plumbing and lighting fixture specifications
  • Tile and surface selections
  • Detailed renderings (if applicable)
  • Contractor-ready design documentation
  • Two revision rounds

03 Design Presentation: The completed design is presented as a cohesive package that organizes the selections and specifications needed for implementation.

04 Construction Collaboration (if applicable): For renovation and new construction projects, Elizabeth may collaborate with the builder to clarify design selections and support the implementation of the design during construction.

Designer does not supervise construction or assume responsibility for contractor performance, scheduling, or workmanship.

05 Optional Add-On: Furnishing and Decorative Selections: After construction is complete, many clients choose to continue working together to furnish their newly renovated spaces. Elizabeth offers furnishing guidance to help clients select furniture, lighting, rugs, artwork, and accessories that complement the finished design.

Services may include:

  • Furniture layout suggestions
  • Furniture and lighting recommendations
  • Rug, artwork, and accessory direction
  • Curated product recommendations

Furnishings are purchased directly by the client through their preferred retailers.

“It is with such joy and pleasure that I submit this review of Elizabeth’s amazing talent, gifts, and work on our Beach House! We have completed all of the interior work and we are thrilled at the beauty that our home creates for ourselves and others to enjoy. Elizabeth led us through the process of design as we strived to marry beauty and functionality in our small but totally adequate 1600 square foot beach house whose focal point/view from every room and angle is the beach with its water, waves, sand, shorebirds, and the delight of endless activity of families, friends, and lone beachgoers. From the architectural structure, to the geometry of barn doors and architectural walls to the cascade of colors in paint, tile, and fabric choices, to the magic of our Sleeping Porch, a bunkbed design to house excited grandchildren as they rest from their day at the beach, play music on the piano, ukulele, tambourines ad maracas, Elizabeth was able to help us create our wonderful space in this this new place and new phase (retirement) of our lives. She was able to contribute at every layer of our project including the outdoor space underneath our house (we are elevated) as she worked with our engineers to design space that met with City coding requirements as well as achieving the aesthetics and entertaining space that we were looking for. Elizabeth is not only extremely talented, but the ultimate professional and she treats her clients with respect at every decision-making corner. And, she is fun and friendly and makes what can be a very stressful time seem doable and even enjoyable.
